The first election of 2011 was held in Kalaroa municipality established on 11 March 1990. Mr. Md. Gazi Akhtarul Islam was elected as the 1st Mayor. After that, the second election was held on December 30, 2015 in the municipality. Mr. Md. Gazi Akhtarul Islam was re-elected Mayor. Later on 14/06/2018, the panel mayor Md. Moniruzzaman acted as the acting mayor. At present there are about 1200 street lights inside the municipality. Work will start to supply water through high speed pipeline. To keep the city clean, work has started to collect garbage from the houses and dump it in a safe place. About 200 AIRPs have been set up at the community and school level of the municipality under the supervision of Kalaroa Municipality and Dhaka Ahsania Mission with the financial assistance of Water Aid to provide safe water to the people of the municipal area. Practical Action, Uttaran and HP are working in a joint venture with Asha Municipality to ensure people's wash rights. Progress is working on civil rights. Most of the service work of the municipality is being provided through computer as well as digital.
